5 secrets to glowing skin all winter long!
By Chloe Nurik January 19
Nothing ruins an otherwise kickin’ outfit like dry, dull, unhappy skin. That’s why skin care should become a top priority once the temperature starts to drop. Winter may be a barren season, but you can keep your skin fresh and vibrant with just a little know-how. Don’t worry, we’ve rounded up the five best skin care tips so that you can glow all season long.
Tip #1: Moisturize
A good moisturizer is a worthwhile investment. You would spend money on a good bra or a great pair of jeans, right? Well, skin care is no different! During winter, it is especially important to moisturize your skin on a regular basis. Apply moisturizer before your makeup every morning, and your skin will thank you.
Tip #2: Sunscreen
Splash on the sunscreen! No, we are not kidding…The sun is strong during the winter too, and you need to protect yourself against the rays that damage your skin, big time. You don’t want to start looking like a wrinkly raisin, now do you?
Tip #3: Limit Hot Showers
Hold back on the hot showers! Okay, I know that this one is a little harder to do. After a miserably cold day, the last thing on your mind might be protecting your skin from the heat, but this step is important. Steamy showers strip the moisture from your skin. For the healthiest skin possible, try to limit the length of your hot showers.
Tip #4: Exfoliate
Exfoliate at least twice a week! This will remove the dead skin cells and allow the new cells a chance to come to the surface and absorb moisture. This step will guarantee you glowing skin!
Tip #5: Sleep
Get some sleep, girl! Getting a good night’s sleep is good for your skin and your outlook too. Don’t skimp on sleep, no matter how long your to-do list. Those extra ZZZ’S will help make the day feel like a breeze or help you recover from a bad day!
The best way to get through the grueling winter months is to baby your skin to give it a healthy glow! Don’t let the winter doldrums hold back you back. Seize the moment…and the season…and let your awesomeness shine through.
