What Is Unbuttoned?

Hello there! When I was asked to write a daily blog called Unbuttoned, I was super excited. When I learned a little bit more about the concept, I got downright giddy. How desperately has the world needed something like this?

My name is Aly, and I have been there. Even though I’m creeping into the upper-attic-recesses of my twenties, when I was a teen, I was a plus size. I also had no fashion sense, was living on a budget, and truly believed that I was limited to a life of stretch jeans and baggy sweaters just because my size crept into the double digits.

I’m so sad I didn’t have my own back in high school. Because I would have told myself (not that I talk to myself, mind you…really), that I have so many options! There’s sexy high boots made for wider calves. Tights and belts and scarves and high-waisted denim and pencil skirts abound. In fact there are SO many options that there’s actually no reason to complain. Which actually might have been a little disappointing, come to think of it.
