Authors of ‘The Fat Boy Chronicles’ Talk Bullying and Weight

Whether you’ve been on the receiving end, you’ve watched helplessly as it happened, or you’ve even dished it out yourself, bullying has affected us all. And increasingly, bullies have enjoyed directing their attention to those of us who struggle with our weight. In a brave new book (recently turned into a movie) entitled The Fat Boy Chronicles, authors Mike Buchanan and Diane Lang tell the story of student Jimmy Winterpock, who struggles to adjust to high school while facing daily torment from a group of mean-spirited classmates. While Jimmy’s situation may seem extreme, it’s unfortunately far from uncommon.

On fitsmi radio this Tuesday, February 7 at 5:00 pm EST we chatted with authors Buchanan and Lang about why they wrote the book, what bullying means to them, and how we can come together to end bullying once and for all.
