Types of Activity: Things You Can Do
When we talk about physical activity, we’re talking about movement that can be broken down into two different types:
Raise your heart rate:
Basically, movement that makes you breathe harder.

- Running
- Hopping
- Skipping
- Jumping Rope
- Swimming
- Dancing
- Canoeing
- Hiking
- Skateboarding
- Rollerblading
- Brisk Walking
- Bike Riding (Stationary Or Road Bike)
- Housework and yard work, such as sweeping or pushing a lawn mower
- Games that require catching and throwing, such as baseball and softball
Build lean muscle:
Basically, repetitive movements that make your muscles tired.
Some examples:
- Lifting weights
- Working with resistance bands
- Games like tug-of-war
- Heavy yard work like chopping wood, lifting, and digging
- Body weight exercises
- Climbing and bouldering
- Sit-ups (curl-ups or crunches)
