Why You Should MOVE

There’s two (somewhat connected) parts to this answer:

  1. Weight loss*: To lose weight, you have to combine reducing calories and increasing your physical activity. If you do one or the other, you’ll probably lose weight, but the two combined are very powerful. Your body is made to lose weight, that’s why you have to eat in the first place! All you need to do is move a little more, eat the right foods, and your body will take care of the weight loss for you.
  2. Maintaining weight loss: Moving is SUPER IMPORTANT for keeping the weight off after you’ve lost it (it just is, really). An added benefit of moving: any new muscle you build will burn calories all day long (even when you sleep). Once you’ve added muscle by moving, the new muscle will start eating fat!

If you make one and only one change in your life, we hope you’ll increase the minutes you move. It gives you the most “bang for your buck” and does more to improve your overall health than any other change. Plus, hey, it helps you look better and feel better. Win win.

*NOTE: When we talk about weight loss, we mean losing weight that brings you to a healthier you. We mean having a fitter version of your body type. Every body type is different and each person’s ideal is different and unique to her body. The goal is to find YOUR healthy body. It’s in there, and moving more will help you find it.
