Should Santa Slim Down?
By December 23

Have you caught wind of Australian epidemiologist Nathan Grills’ “study” accusing Santa Claus of being a bad role model? According to Dr. Grills, “There is a correlation between countries that venerate Santa Claus and those that have high levels of childhood obesity.”

The article continues to accuse Santa of promoting drunk driving, specifically in countries like Great Britain where leaving cookies and wine for Santa is a tradition (Although, wouldn’t the reindeer have to be under the influence for the sleigh ride to be a hazard?).

Media outlets everywhere are bashing Dr. Grills for his bah humbug attitude, but few of them realize the whole study was meant as a joke. “To clarify, I am not a Santa researcher,” Dr. Grills later explained, “The article was written in my spare time for a bit of comic relief.”

Either way, Dr. Grills clearly didn’t do his homework. It’s a little known fact that Santa is actually very physically active. These videos are proof:

Personally, we’ve always wondered how Santa manages to climb down all those chimenys. We can’t say we’ve tried it ourselves–nor do we suggest that you try it–but it seems like a pretty difficult task for anyone, big or small.
