Post-workout Faux Pas

A girl’s gotta reward herself after a workout, but eating a ton of junk food probably isn’t the healthiest idea. This recent article about post-workout rewards reminded me of one mistake I made while training for a marathon three years ago—overeating. Thinking that I was burning massive amounts of calories from training, I allowed myself to eat too much food (like, whole slabs of graham crackers at a time).

The six pounds that I packed on were not all muscle, but more like a mixture of fat and muscle, which explains why my clothes were tighter and I felt heavier.

Take it from me—even marathon workouts may not burn enough calories to cover that hot fudge sundae, so watch out.
